Oberlin Blogs

Andres Cuervo ’17

I’m Andres Cuervo and here are a few things about me!

Even though I’ve narrowed down my majors I’m truly interested in every academic subject in some way or another. For a long time in high school I considered majors and I’ve switched my potential majors at least 5 times from across the academic spectrum (I started with studio art, I now want do computer science — big change!) I’m sure down the road my posts will talk about my love for various things and maybe even switching majors; we’ll just have to wait and see.

A few more notes about me: I’m from Monterey Park, California — near Los Angeles. I’m one of the biggest Pokémon fans you’ll ever meet; chat with me about it sometime if you’d like! And, yes, I did bring my DS and Pokémon games with me to college.

On entirely different note, I’m a Bonner Scholar and it’s quickly turning out to be one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made since coming to Oberlin. I work at America Reads and the Du Bois Fraction Club right now and I love both sites. I’m not sure how well my Bonner experience will translate into the blog so I thought I’d mention it here. If you have any questions about my burgeoning experience with the program, feel free to ask.

There are many more things about my life that I’d like to share, and that’s why I became on Oberlin blogger. I can’t wait to expand on my experiences here and share them with you.
