Lots of Thinking

I'm experiencing what I've just now decided to call a one-third semester slump. Last night, instead of reading Hamlet like I should have, I lay on my bed, closed my eyes, and listened to Animorphs: The Radio Drama, UNCENSORED. For two hours.

Granted, it was a restful time and it was a really good Animorphs book, but it was time that I'm going to pay dearly for. I have an exam on Wednesday and a paper due Thursday that I haven't started planning yet, with more on the horizon. I also have to figure out what I'm going to do this summer, and I need to figure that out soon.

Really, though, all I want to do is read young adult novels. I can't, though, because I have more important work to do. So instead I go online and look at all the books I could be reading on Goodreads.

I've created a chart to show you how I've been spending my time:

Pie chart with 8 slices. Sleeping and thinking about sleeping, 29%. Thinking about the future, 18%. Thinking about reading, 15%. Thinking about working, 15%. Thinking about blogging, 12%. Searching out people who are also not doing work, 6%. Reading, 3%. Working, 3%.

I'm not the only one experiencing this paradox of thinking about all the work one should be doing and not doing any of it. Yesterday, a friend and I discussed the very phenomenon in great detail, while not getting any work done.

And now I've written this blog post and still done nothing with that essay. I hold out hope that next week will be better.

To end on an exciting note (no pun intended), watch this video about College Orchestra!
